New industry backed energy consultancy PRAGMA launches today, led by the Former CEO of the Energy Council and co-chaired by the Chairman of INEOS Energy and CEO of EnQuest.
London, 17th September 2024
PRAGMA, a new consultancy dedicated to the Energy industry, has launched today, with the aim of changing the conversation around the energy transition which has become polarized to simply "no more fossil fuels".
PRAGMA will work with management teams at Oil & Gas companies to help them raise capital, build world-class boards, upgrade their technology and amplify their brand.
An extension of a company’s business development, investor relations, executive search and PR teams, PRAGMA will tap into its extensive network to give Oil & Gas companies globally access to pre-qualified, alternative capital providers; top-tier talent; technology and face time with global policy makers.
Amy Miller, CEO commented: “The Oil & Gas industry has been vilified for years and does not receive due credit for the good work that it does. Governments and societies around the world cannot address the energy trilemma today without the Oil & Gas industry; nor can they develop a low-carbon economy without the balance sheets, technical expertise and workforce that the Oil & Gas industry boasts. PRAGMA believes in energy addition; as population and energy demand continue to grow, there is a need for all forms of energy.”
The PRAGMA advisory board brings together industry leaders including: Toby Rice, CEO, EQT; Majid Jafar, CEO, Crescent Petroleum; Mark Viviano, Managing Partner & Head of Public Equities, Kimmeridge and Stephen Trauber, Chairman and Global Head of Energy and Clean Tech, Moelis.
They will join Brian Gilvary, Chairman at INEOS Energy and Amjad Bseisu, CEO of EnQuest in their capacity as Co-Chairs.
Brian Gilvary, Chairman at INEOS Energy, Co-Chair of PRAGMA and former CFO at bp, said: “A lot of companies, to a degree, are not being allowed to actually voice the harsh reality of what is happening right now, particularly around energy security. PRAGMA is a vehicle through which we can have a balanced dialogue around how to achieve an energy transition that ensures both energy security & reduced carbon emissions."
Miller added, “Whilst we look forward to working with Oil & Gas companies and their stakeholders on an individual basis, we are also excited to launch a dedicated, industry wide, PR campaign that will educate investors, policy makers and the wider public that the transition to a lower carbon economy must be conducted with pragmatism.
